The Technical, Industrial, and Engineering Student (TIES) Sales Showdown is our technical sales role play competition where ~220 students leverage their sales skills to win recognition and scholarship prizes, while industry partners observe, provide feedback, and try to identify their next top performers.
In addition to the competition, the event also includes specific time for networking – we call this the TIES Connection Fair. The TIES Connection Fair is a little different from other events in at least two ways:
- Free food and drinks– we want you to feel welcome, so come and enjoy snacks throughout the day and lunch at noon!
- No suit, no resume, no problem – these companies want to meet you as you are. If you want to get dressed up, we won’t stop you. But if you’re thinking about popping in between classes, please know that our industry partners will not be shocked if you are dressed like a student (they know you’re a student – in fact, that’s why they’re here!).
Join us Thursday, March 26, 2026 from 8am-3pm in the Memorial Student Center (MSC; Bethancourt Ballroom) to connect with companies who are eager to meet you. All of these companies are hiring for technical, industrial, or engineering sales roles, but many are also looking to fill roles in operations, supply chain, analytics, engineering, marketing, and more.
